The lead author of the Lifestyle Development Process is Dr. Paul Malette, Director, CBI Consultants. The Lifestyle Development Process was published in the Journal of the Association for Persons with Severe Handicaps (JASH) in 1992. The LDP was re-published in 2004, in the Pro-Ed book titled “Positive Behaviour Support: Critical Articles on Improving Practice for Individuals with Severe Disabilities.”
The LDP merges person-centred planning principles with evidence based behavioural, communication, and instructional strategies. The LDP is a highly individualized process that is designed to support the focus person to achieve a quality life. The LDP can be applied across the lifespan.
