Our Approach
Positive behaviour support is an approach that blends values about the rights of people with and without disabilities with the practical science about how learning and behavior change occur. PBS is a set of research-based strategies used to increase quality of life and decrease problem behavior by teaching new skills and making changes in a person’s environment.

CBI Consultants has been providing person-centred inclusive practices since 1990. We are committed to full inclusion for persons with disabilities. In 1992, we published a research paper outlining our person centered positive practices (The Lifestyle Development Process (LDP), Journal of the Association for Persons with Severe Handicaps. We have provided training and technical assistance to more than 5,000 family members, school personnel, and community living personnel throughout the world.

CBI Consultants developed a comprehensive Training and Technical Assistance Center to build capacity to implement and maintain positive behavioural support strategies within home, school and community settings.

Multi-Level Training
CBI’s Training and Technical Assistance model combines state of the art online training and consulting capabilities with practical evidence based strategies to improve the lives of people with challenging behaviour.
