CBI’s Response to COVID-19
Dear Supported Individuals, Families and Partners:
We recognize that these are overwhelming times, and there is no doubt that the uncertainty we’re facing is challenging. Our hearts and thoughts go out to each and every one of you.
I want you to know that CBI is committed to continue providing you with the services and products you depend on. For more than 30 years, CBI Consultants Ltd. has focused on our mission to providing inclusive supports across the life span. This enduring mission guides us as we closely monitor, assess and respond to this situation.
In response to the current situation, we’ve implemented our business continuity plan — which examines all areas of business operations at every CBI site — and have taken actions to ensure continued service to our supported individuals. Rest assured, we are prepared to serve you.
First and foremost, our plan ensures the health and safety of our employees, so we can continue to deliver and support the services and products you count on. Considering the most recent news and announcements from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , we have made the decision to have employees in our offices around British Columbia leverage technology and online platforms in delivering services whenever possible. As a Training and Technical Assistance Centre [TTAC], in the last decade, CBI has been utilizing our platforms such as the Online Learning Management System [LMS] in supporting our individuals across the province, so we have built-in capability in ensuring business continuity amidst this pandemic. We have also set up a CBI COVID-19 committee whose mandate is to provide detailed guidelines and temporary policies as well as update our staff [and stakeholders as needed] regarding information derived from the following websites: Public Health Officer and Ministry of Health statements, BC Centre for Disease Control, HealthLink BC, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and the World Health Organization.
The above-mentioned measures have been taken to limit the potential spread of the virus; to support our employees in this challenging time; and to ensure we maintain our ability to serve you for the long term. Our senior leadership team remains vigilant and is monitoring the situation in real time and responding rapidly as conditions evolve.
CBI encourages you to follow the best practices shared by WHO, CDC, and the BC’s Chief Medical Health Officer to protect your health and those around you.
