Introducing our new Executive Director: Mike Bote
We’re pleased to announce that we have appointed Mike Bote as CBI’s new Executive Director, effective October 2018.
Mike’s appointment is a clear reflection of the company’s current state: ready to take on the future and fired up after several years of strong growth and development. CBI is poised for major expansion in the areas of Positive Behavioural Support, Self-Determination, and Customized Employment, and we’re excited what Mike’s unique experience and skillset can do for us. There is enormous opportunity for CBI that lies ahead, and we are energized with Mike joining our family and helping us achieve continued success.
Mike brings 15 years of significant record of achievement in the community living sector and large-scale private organizations. His involvement in the community living sector started when he became a homeshare provider for two individuals with developmental disabilities. With the desire to provide meaningful contributions to the sector in a much larger scale, he joined Community Living BC (CLBC) in 2011. Mike held key leadership roles in Regional Operations and Finance departments of CLBC and was instrumental to the development and implementation of its major financial systems and processes. Prior to working for CLBC, he held positions involving strategic management, organizational and business development, and marketing in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), investment, international trading, and consulting companies.
Mike has an MBA from The University of British Columbia and a bachelor’s degree in Economics. In his spare time, Mike immensely enjoys singing. He has performed with prestigious choral groups in Canada and the Philippines.
Mike took over the ED position from Leslie Jones who has been a core member of the CBI team since inception. Leslie’s passion and commitment to excellence had brought CBI to a solid and respected place in the field and positioned the organization for further growth and development. As she moves on to undertake more clinical endeavors within the organization as a Senior Consultant, CBI would like to express deep appreciation and gratitude for Leslie’s significant contributions during her tenure as ED.
Please join us in welcoming Mike to his new role at CBI and congratulate Leslie for her new endeavors.
